Courtesy Visit on Minister of Finance

ACCCIS office bearers paid a courtesy visit to YB Mr. Lim Guan Eng, Minister of Finance.

A delegation consisting of Mr. Lee Khoi Yun, President of The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS), Dato Tan Jit Kee, Deputy President of ACCCIS, and its Council Members paid a courtesy visit on YB Mr. Lim Guan Eng on 27 February 2019 at 5:00pm at Ministry of Finance, Putrajaya.

The delegation has expressed its concerns on the rising cost of doing business in Sarawak to the Minister of Finance, YB Lim Guan Eng, outlining its views on the current issues affecting the business community in Sarawak.  During the 45-minute dialogue, issues brought up by ACCCIS include the proposed on-going increase of the minimum wage, levies of the foreign workers and also proposed to the government to consider step-up financing as an additional option to crowd funding, in order to ease the lending predicament to property buyers as well as to stimulate the prevailing sluggish property market.

“The meeting was a fruitful one and we appreciate YB Lim for the opportunity granted to us, and his willingness to discuss and listen to the views of the private sector,” said President of ACCCIS, Mr. Lee Khoi Yun.

The Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs of Malaysia, YB Chong Chieng Jen and YB Senator Ling Sie Kiong also present in the meeting.
