Courtesy visit to YB Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Minister of Transport Sarawak
The delegates from the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) paid a courtesy visit to YB Datuk Lee Kim Shin, Minister of Transport Sarawak on 20th January 2021.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the latest development and policies of the state government relating to public transport, in particular, the intention of our Sarawak government to unveil and develop the Automated Rapid Transit (ART) system as a mean to tackle the traffic congestion.
During the 90-minute dialogue, issues brought up by ACCCIS include whether to uphold the Cabotage Policy in Sarawak and request for the Ministry to appoint a representative from ACCCIS to sit on the Sarawak Public Transport Committee as a channel for ACCCIS to contribute its inputs and views for the betterment of the development of public transport in Sarawak.
