ACCCIS Small and Medium Enterprises & Human Resource Development Committee plans to organise a Virtual Briefing on [the expansion of the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act 2001] via Zoom Meeting.

The purpose is to take the initiative to publicize and create enough awareness to the business community about HRDF Act 2001, especially the expansion of the scope of implementation of Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act 2001, effective 1st March, 2021.

After the expansion, all industries are now covered under HRDF’s training except for Federal & State Government, as well as NGOs involved in social welfare activities.

Notably, employers of the new sectors are given an exemption of HRD levy for three months under the Act, i.e. from 1st March, 2021 to 31st May, 2021. The registration of HRDF employers under the new industries has been extended till 30th April, 2021. Those employers who fail to register before the deadline will be fined not exceeding RM10,000 (Ringgit Malaysia Ten Thousand) or subject to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one (1) year or both (on conviction).
